Innovation in Creative Multimedia

What is Innovation?

Innovation comes from the Latin innovationem, noun of action from innovare. The Etymology Dictionary further explains innovare as dating back to 1540 and stemming from the Latin innovatus, pp. of innovare "to renew or change," from in- "into" + novus "new".

Innovation can therefore be seen as the process that renews something that exists and not, as is commonly assumed, the introduction of something new. Furthermore this makes clear innovation is not an economic term by origin, but dates back to the middle Ages at least. Possibly even earlier.

The central meaning of innovation thus relates to renewal. For this renewal to take place it is necessary for people to change the way they make decisions, they must choose to do things differently, make choices outside of their norm. Schumpeter c.s. (~1930) seems to have stated that innovation changes the values onto which the system is based. So when people change their value (system) the old (economic) system will tumble over to make room for the new one. When that happens innovation has occurred. So innovation must be seen as something that does not something that is

On a lower level, innovation can be seen as a change in the thought process for doing something, or the useful application of new inventions or discoveries.[1] It may refer to incremental, emergent, or radical and revolutionary changes in thinking, products, processes, or organizations. Following Schumpeter (1934), contributors to the scholarly literature on innovation typically distinguish between invention, an idea made manifest, and innovation, ideas applied successfully in practice. In many fields, such as the arts, economics andgovernment policy, something new must be substantially different to be innovative. In economics the change must increase value, customer value, or producer value. The goal of invention is positive change, to make someone or something better. Invention and introduction of it that leads to increased productivity is the fundamental source of increasing wealth in an economy.

Innovation is an important topic in the study of economics, business, entrepreneurship, design, technology, sociology, and engineering. Colloquially, the word "innovation" is often synonymous with the output of the process.

However, economists tend to focus on the process itself, from the origination of an idea to its transformation into something useful, to its implementation; and on the system within which the process of innovation unfolds. Since innovation is also considered a major driver of the economy, especially when it leads to new product categories or increasing productivity, the factors that lead to innovation are also considered to be critical to policy makers. In particular, followers of innovation economics stress using public policy to spur innovation and growth.

Those who are directly responsible for application of inventions are often called pioneers in their field, whether they are individuals or organizations. When pioneers are followed by many other the dominant value system may be replaced by the new one. When this happens innovation has occurred a posteriori.


What is Creative Multimedia?
Creative multimedia is the vehicle in which emerging technologies drive home the concept of multimedia communications in business, art and design, entertainment and education.
The creative media and information businesses have always been a crucial contributor to the economy. Together, the creative and media business sectors invest, produce and disseminate a huge array of content that educates, informs and entertains the public. It is this creative content that people are looking for when they are connecting to the Internet, activating their broadband connection, switching on their mobile phones or choosing a channel on their TV service.
The creative and media sector is thus the true heart of the Information Society, as it represents the segment that is the most accessed, and most accessible by the masses. The emerging content provider in the Information Society will be a professional who understands the authoring process, and who is an expert in graphics, sound, video and text content production.
Innovation in Creative Multimedia
It is the changes that happen with the creativity in serving multimedia to the public society in many aspects such as in business, art and design, entertainment and education, etc.
Since the last 3 decades, Multimedia has been innovating so rapidly so sometimes we did not realize that it was actually happening. From the black and white TV to 3d TV, from brick-sized phone to mini phone, from huge computer to super computer on your hand, those all are the products of innovation in creative multimedia.
So by knowing those things, we can say that Innovation in Creative Multimedia is really important in this 21st century onwards, where with the rapid development of technology, the society will need easier and more effective multimedia to ease their life. For example, now a day we always hear that many new super hand phones where you can do almost everything just by your finger tips.
Function of Innovation
Simple
There are many functions of innovation in Creative Multimedia. We can start with simple function of innovation. We can focus on basic simple function, such as : motivation. In Creative Multimedia mean creative, someone much have critical thinking on what the do on or what he/she want to be. Are they want to make or create something new or anything ?. In this case the simple function of innovation take a role. We as other people or third party can motivate someone to make their critical thinking more sharper. We can give them advice or any idea what the world’s need now. Or then we can give them spirit while making a new product so the innovator especially in Creative Multimedia never fell down.
Instant
Instant function in innovation on Creative Multimedia also take a role when the innovator produce a product. But, this instant “way” or instant function can’t yet received my many people. It mean, sometimes the innovator make a product with instant procedure, and most of it had spend a lot of cash. So, in other way. If it already cost much money on production process, so they will sell the product in the market rather expensive. Most of expensive thing in this world can’t guarantee the quality of the product itself. Of course most people or consumer could think twice before buy this product. They also think the benefits what they will get after buy the product. You know the law of demand “The higher the price of an item, the less amount of goods demanded, on the contrary the lower the price of an item greater the number of goods demanded."
Technique Innovation

In Creative Multimedia

Whenever the present invention, the existing social order will have changes. Upon the acceptance of new discovery, then there will be social change, ie, starting from the changes in behavior, both individually, collectively or changes in the social system. And it also has technique to do a little things to make that be a big things. Based from that technique, there are three ways technique to make it better such as handmade, natural and machine.

Firstly handmade, before everything is used by machine, people got innovation with sculpture, painting and craft. They made sculpture such as pot, and statue which is liberty etc. However painting also they did it. And the last one is Craft, craft a branch of profession that requires some particular kind of skilled work. The example of craft is origami is from Japan, Batik from Indonesia and Malaysia got many innovation from there with many design.
Secondly Natural, this natural in innovation is taking to the Place, and Product.
Thirdly Machine, this time many innovation contributed from machine or using machine, like automotive and electronic. Eg for automotive like sophisticated cars from German, and the fastest train in Japan. They created many innovation in electronics, such as cellphone with many features, and television with beautiful shape.
The technique Innovation in creative multimedia is never ending, they always got some new technique for it. People try to make new innovation base from three aspects. First, they try to develop it to get much functional, second is try to make their life is easy and simple, third is to do many thing quickly as instant as they can. On the other hand, technique like handmade, natural, and machine is also need to fulfil every particular in innovation.
Innovation of Technology

In Creative Multimedia

If we talk about technology, we cannot leave it without talking about innovation. Without innovation, technological world cannot ever be developing. Same goes to Creative Multimedia, Innovation In technology means a lot in the development in Multimedia. The direct impact that we can see is of course in the software and hardware that used for making the multimedia creative. There are many innovations, and the professionals are still innovating the more functional and more efficient tools for Multimedia. For example, years ago, we can only play games by using joysticks, pressing the buttons and then the machine will do the command, but now, with the awesome innovations, now the consoles can let us control the game with our motion and it feels so realistic. Another real example is in the cinema. Lately, they innovated the 3D movie system where we can feel the 3D movies with using the special glasses. Who knows? In the future we could watch or play games just by wearing cool glasses and then control it with our mind. All of that will not be happening if there is no innovation within the technology. So, technology will always be attached with innovation, same goes to creative multimedia which use technology a lot.

Design as a noun informally refers to a plan for the construction of an object (as in architectural blueprints) while “to design” refers to making this plan. No generally-accepted definition of “design” exists, and the term has different connotations in different fields. However, one can also design by directly constructing an object (as in pottery, cowboy coding and graphic design).
More formally, design has been defined as follows. The person designing is called a designer, which is also a term used for people who work professionally in one of the various design areas, usually also specifying which area is being dealt with (such as a fashion designer, concept designeror web designer). A designer’s sequence of activities is called a design process. The scientific study of design is called design science.

Like newspaper layout in 1990 and 2010 there so much differences there. How to manage the box, choosing the font of the words, and also manage words and sentences on the front page. So basically design innovation in multimedia is the process of making things to be more interesting.
